The HWS delivers critical speed gains for the initial weapon presentation, in multiple target situations, and in conditions where either the operator or the threat(s) are moving rapidly. * AA Battery Option
The M510 and M550 are available with the universally available AA battery source as an option. The AA option also allows interchangeability with one common battery source across all standard battery powered gear. Now operators can stock, maintain, and deploy with one common battery for CQB optic, night vision systems, GPS, flashlights, radio equipment, etc. The AA version extends the battery life to 1100 at the nominal daylight setting and allows operation in extreme arctic temperatures. The AA models accommodate all versions of AA batteries including lithium, alkaline, and rechargeable types. The length is extended by 1.3 inches and all other functions of the HDS are maintained.
